Dirty South North American tour dates

After a busy summer tour schedule, the Australian DJ/producer Dragan Roganovic better known as Dirty South is about to finish up with a North American stint. This man of the hour has a prolific remixing discography as it stands, with Depeche Mode, Snoop Dogg, Tiesto and Roger Sanchez all getting the Dirty South treatment, among other quality artists. On top of that he’s also produced several singles and EPs, club anthems ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Open Your Heart’, that have received widespread support. Dirty South is now getting further support for his addition to the highly acclaimed Toolroom Knights series, which is a carefully crafted selection of electro and housey techno dancefloor destroyers. On October 9th Dirty South sets off his tour.

Dirty South talks about upcoming album ‘Toolroom Knights’

Grammy nominated producer and DJ Dirty South is about to release a new album called ‘Toolroom Knights’ on Toolroom Records September 15th.

What was your overall approach to constructing a Toolroom mix?

The tracks for this compilation were selected on the basis of tracks I was into and what I was playing at the time of selection. It also features some Toolroom releases and of course some of my productions. I keyed all the tracks and mixed both discs with Ableton Live.

Do you feel that you’ve achieved what you set out to with the mix?

I am really happy with this mix.I would say it is my favourite compilation to date. I think I achieved exactly what I intended with it.

How would you describe the sound of mix?

The sound of the mix varies throughout both discs. Disc 1 is little deeper, weirder and sexier, where the second disc is more big room sounding.

Reynosa!

After the great success obtained with the highly played “Let It Go”, the Dutch producer Emilio Fernandez is back on the scene with a new project that is called “Reynosa” on Black Hole Recordings which is currently number 2 on Beatports Top 10. This track that will definitely inflame the club floors at peak time, it has all the right elements to make a lovely prog track! A classic example of how a production can ‘touch’ the maximum!

Close 2 Me

Captcha is a hot new dance act straight from The Netherlands. It’s exclusively signed to Holland’s no.1 dance independent Spinnin’ Records on which they released their first single “Close 2 me”. The vocals are provided by Dutch talent Nora, who’s also Captcha’s “face”. Producers and initiators behind the project are Addy van der Zwan,  Koen Groeneveld and Nico Verrips. The single features the Original Mix, a Hi Tack Remix, Peter Gelderblom Mix and last one by Muzikjunki.

Shiloh Sanction

As the Canadian house gods Shiloh adjust to shut themselves away in their studio to start working on the follow up album to their debut long played ‘Bleed‘, they have started to work with some up n coming producers to get the old creative juices going. They were so astonished with what they created during the sessions that they sent them to their friends at Baroque who were amazed too and signed this little album on the spot. A cross between an album and a single, this pack will take the second release in the new album series. Four different tracks (“Shiloh – Push“, “Shiloh And Derrick Wilson – VSOP“, “Shiloh And Marcus Zuhr – Boogie Nights“, “Shiloh And Steve Andres – Flywheel“), all with that Shiloh quality, with a different style provided by their mates… just amazing!

Back from the long weekend

It was 4th of July here, Independence Day, and we had the Friday off. Lots of fireworks and drinking went on, but we’re back with another update. “Far Away” by Cressida and Paul Velour released on Baroque Limited is such a great vocal house song with a progressive feel to it. This EP shows their slightly darker techier sounds under the alias Paul Velour. Another release that’s on the EP gives us throbbing beats and bass with their hooks & toned down emotive melodies to bring “Black Minutes.”
