Default Dell PC won't start

So this week my fathers office computer Dell Dimension 5150 broke down on him.
Nothing happens when the power button is pressed. I think the switch may have burned, but I'm not sure how to check if it works or not.
The power supply, memory and the video card all work. The motherboard has a light on it, so it's receiving power.
I'm not sure what to do with this now

Here's how the switch looks like, I can't test it with any other of my computers because it's connected through one of those wide flat ribbon cables

Yeah switch may be toast. You still have power to the PC, otherwise the green light would not be on.

If you can, locate where the switch is soldered into the board. Find a small piece of wire, metal twist tie, and carefully touch the terminals together with the wire. If the PC turns on, it is the switch.

If you need help ID'ing the switch terminals on the opposite side, snap another pic of the underside and I could highlight what you need to touch.

I've touched these 2 together and tried others, but it still won't start.
Maybe I could try on a motherboard somehow?

If you tried the others in that area and still nothing, maybe switch is DPDT (double pole, double throw. May require two together, but separately. (see enclosed pic) Just jump the ones that are circled in green together, and the same for the one on the bottom. Make sure you have two separate conductors.

If that still doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. Sorry I couldn't help more.

No, the battery is fine.
And I've tried it the way you told me to Agent J, but still won't start.
I'll try some computer specialist forum.
Thanks a lot for your help!!
