I don't DJ so mine won't wear out as fast as yours, but I have the same ones as you Sony MDR-V700 for about 4 years now in a great condition and not looking to upgrade anytime soon.

I started with the Sony"s however switched over to the sennheiser hd25's and never looked back. They sound great and are so much smaller and lighter. After you've used the hd25's for a bit and then try on sony's you'll know what im talking about..

senns hd 25's are the daddy's. Used in Djing and TV commentary worldwide because they are so good at blocking out surrounding noise - essential for monitoring, they're light, very robust (all parts are replaceable) and no other DJ headphone sounds as crisp and punchy.
If you want proper headphones get these, if you want headphones that are silver and flashy...get these and spray paint them |

Use pioneer HDJ-1000 & Sony MDR-v700. I've heard folk complain about their Pio's breaking etc, personally never had a prob with them, they have have seen some use too. I've also used the Senn HD 25 which i would recommend, well built, great sounding cans.
