Ferry Corsten – Twice in a Blue Moon

Posted on 28. Nov, 2008 by Damian in Ferry Corsten

Ferry Corsten’s changed his game this year – he might have been the man who introduced electro influences into trance back in 2003 with Punk, but on this album he’s coming back to his roots, focussing his sound inwards to lose the outside influences that made his last album, 2006’s L.E.F, so diverse. So if you’re a trance purist, this should be something for you. Otherwise…well, he had Guru from Gangstarr on L.E.F

Anyway, Twice In A Blue Moon’s first single – and inevitable first hit – is Radio Crash; big bass-lines, uplifting sounds, catchy melody… it’s all there. And title-track Twice In A Blue Moon is also a piece of straight-forward, uplifiting trance, but there are still flashes of electro on Brain Box, plus some more vocal cuts too – like Black Velvet and Made Of Love. And speaking of things that are made of love, we can’t forget Gabriella’s Sky, Ferry’s ode to his new daughter. Ahhhh… bless him.
