Deadmau5 – The Reward is More Cheese

Posted on 13. Nov, 2008 by rgould2 in Deadmau5

For anybody who may have thought the mau5 had gone back into his hau5, think again. I didn’t think Mr. Zimmerman was going to be able to deliver the finishing blow after his latest “Ghosts n Stuff”, but he has. I’m knocked out. This track has floored me. So progressive and so crunchy, I don’t know what else to say. Listen up!

Thx for the clarification Damian ! Yep I was indeed referring to that, sorry for the confusion rgould! :) As you may now be aware of Deadmau5’s ridicolous comments, you can understand why i have said that. In fact I think that all big DJs should stop supporting this lunatic. Why should I support someone who is going to call me a “f-in cunt” ! Makes me sick to be honest.

he is in titled to his opinion, just like you are

I don’t blame him for that comment a lot of people like “you” have consistently bashed him for using Ableton Live in his performances. Saying its cheating, not really DJing, requires no skill, and he’s to lazy to learn how to do it the “real way” etc; I don’t remember him ever calling himself “DJ Deadmau5″

Obviously this has pissed him off enough to make a comment about it.

He’s human just like the rest of us and is bound to say something not everyone is going to agree w/

He doesn’t mean every DJ is a f-ing cunt, if that was the case he wouldn’t produce w/ Jelo, DJ Aero, Chris Lake and so on.

Excuse me mate, but you know nothing about me and you have no right to claim anything about me! I never bashed the rat about using Ableton, infact im a big believer in softwares to be honest! Just check my previous blog posts about Traktor and so on !

The rat is obviously mad, and him producing alongside djs doesnt mean he approves of them as djs, maybe just as quality producers! This business was not built on fony producers with their self proclaimed cheese, this was a business built by hard working djs and producers such as Sven Vath, Frankie Knuckles, Eric Morillo, Prodigy, Armand Van Helden, etc. who had RESPECT for their peers!

Respect is very important my friend, its not something that can be bought or sold, but earned! And im afraid this rat has none, and he damn sure lost mine and alot of others for him!

“you” as in DJs, wasn’t insinuating anything about you personally but it was a euphemism for DJs in general. sorry for being vague in my last post.

I’m not trying to pick a fight with you just stating my opinion on the matter.
And, I’m glad to hear you support people that use Ableton Live. You seem like a very level headed person after reading your reply.

I’m actually glad you spoke up about it not a lot of people would. Its good to see someone who has a valid opinion, rather then going off on me and droppin’ those F bombs haha I appreciate it

Again, didn’t mean to be hostile to you man, probably sounded like the typical insulting blog comment but this wasn’t the case.

so since respect seems to be the topic of this entire blog post you have mine sir lol

Cheers Metzger! Ofcourse man, its not a matter of just dissing each other, its only because im so concerned about the scene that I have these opinions of the guy. Believe it or not, at one point I looked up to him, because he was bringing innovation to the scene, but now … well you know the rest of the story!

Its unfortunate it had to be this way! And besides the guy is a hypocrite, he goes around touring clubs and venues around the world playing to his fans, well what does he call that ?! Its not like hes a live act like Justice for instance, hes just mixing tracks like other Djs, so whats his beef? And could you believe that he had a fight with Schossow in romania a couple of months ago because of Schossow’s famous project Deadrat6 ! He wouldnt hand the decks over the Schossow, and they had to call security! What a knob!

Indeed, respect is very important in this business.Because producers benifit from other producers, and in turn DJs benifit from producers and vice versa. And most producers are DJs nowadays, its very rare to find a producer who doesnt mix, it sort of comes with the territory. He might not be the greatest DJ, but most polls judge by producing capablities these days anyways.

lol man that guy is a douche

I didn’t know about that dude, I can’t believe he would act like that to a fellow producer.

I’m totally on your side my friend I’m done supporting a person who purposely degrades fellow artists in this wonderful scene.

lmao “What a knob” greatest quote ever!

thats probably the funniest thing ive heard in a long time

take it easy dude!

Deadmau5 was slightly misquoted, he also clarified after the hubub saying he wasnt down on DJs he knows talent when he sees it he was just saying he didnt believe in those DJs that just played two records at the same speed and crossfaded between the two, he seemed to think there was no point if that was all you were doing, there’s no innovation or anything there. I hate all these kneejerk reactions to things people read. Suddenly I hate so and so because a magazine implied he thought DJing was rubbish, why would he slag off his contemporaries, it would make no sense.

The lesson here is: don’t have a kneejerk reaction to whatever you read.

^ Whatever mate, whatever, your just trying to make excuses for a person who doesnt deserve all the attention he recieved. He lost a big portion of his fanbase, but worst of all is he doesnt care! He’s an arrogant pokemon obsessed knob! What a total douche bad!
