imeem mentions FaceTheMusik
Posted on 19. Sep, 2008 by Damian.
So we got a little mention on imeem.com. I’m helping them promote and blog the upcoming LoveFest event in San Francisco which is on Saturday October 4th. If you don’t know what LoveFest is: San Francisco Love Fest is not your ordinary parade, instead of standing on the sidelines watching it go by, everyone is encouraged to dance in the streets with the floats as the parade moves by. Started in San Francisco in 2004, the mission of San Francisco LoveFest has been to promote peace, understanding, tolerance, diversity, love, and respect through the vehicle of dance music and the culture that surrounds it. You can find more information on the official LoveFest group on imeem http://www.imeem.com/sanfranciscolovefest or http://www.sflovefest.org/. Some of the DJs that will be attending: Kaskade, Armin Van Burren, Starkillers, Austin Leeds, Dave Dresden, Benny Benassi, Kyau & Albert, Above & Beyond, ATB and many more. Setrise feat Bas van Platen – Susan West
Posted on 16. Sep, 2008 by Damian.
Setrise from the Netherlands bring their new release ‘Susan West‘ with a large and varied release package. Remixes by Thron V, Ersa, Addex, Setrise in Trance Mix and my favorite Approaching Black remix. The Approaching Black remix has a nice progressive feel to it, good percussion and kick, warm nice synth stabs and really interesting elements popping in and out. Thom V takes it in a slightly different direction, though retains the melody in small sections and is largely based around a guitar lead. Dutchman Ersa retains a nice summery feel with his remix and with a louder clap would have a bigger feel. Most uptempo in the pack comes from Addex, with some interesting percussion elements and a few nice little mute sections which work well. A couple of the synths are slightly too trancey in their makeup, though the overall feel is quite good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the lead as I thought it needed more energy, but all in all it’s a decent addition to the package.

Size Records is on a roll after the huge summer anthems ‘Chaa Chaa‘ and ‘Gypsy‘ and the pace doesn’t seem like slowing down with this peak time techno monster ‘Klack‘. Who’s Who is the superstar Swede Steve Angello who last appeared under this alias in 2005 with the track ‘Not So Dirty’. ‘Klack’ includes Inpetto Remix, Joris Voorn Remix and Mix Two.

Axwell & Bob Sinclar Interview
Posted on 15. Sep, 2008 by Damian.
The new Defected Records/We Play track ‘What a Wonderful World’ comes from house superstars Bob Sinclar and Axwell feat. Ron Carroll. Here is an interesting peek into the inspiration behind the track, which is set to be one of the biggest house records of the year. With all of the hype that Bob Sinclar received with his unofficial track of the 2006 World Cup in Germany, ‘World Hold On’, it’s no surprise that this one is making it up the charts as yet another notable anthem.

Deadmau5 feat. Kaskade – I Remember
Posted on 15. Sep, 2008 by Damian.
Finally this beautiful melodic track was released. Deadmau5 and Kaskade join forces on this huge vocal progressive house track ‘I Remember’. The haunting vocals have you a million miles away whilst the space age keys, tight rhythm and dreamy melody keep you locked in. For anyone not fond of vocals there is a handy instrumental in the package too.
